Wedding Party Games: The Table Centrepiece

The question of who will get to take home the centerpiece can quite often be a discussion point at the reception dining tables, especially when the centerpiece is especially pretty or unique.

Making a party game of who receives the centerpiece, can be an entertaining party game and one many wedding guests will enjoy participating in. Here are some ideas for giving away that reception table centerpiece.

One of the most favored ways brides give away the table centerpieces is to place a number under the centerpiece and give each wedding guest a number. During the celebrations, a number is called, each wedding guest checks their number and whoever has the lucky number wins the centerpiece. Of course, there are lots of ways to put a twist on this long established party activity.

Another enjoyable activity for giving out the table centrepieces is to request the wedding guests to produce a certain item. The wedding MC moves from table to table, advising what the wedding guests at that particular table will have to produce in order to get the centerpiece. Maybe it’s a Georgia quarter or a mint, or a doctor’s appointment card. Whatever it is, the wedding guest at each table who produces the requested item will get the centerpiece.

You can always keep it very simple and offer the centerpiece to the oldest person at one who took the longest time to complete college. Or maybe you could organize an activity where the guest who has the strangest talent (as voted on by the guests at the same table) wins the centerpiece. And it is even better if that guest demontrates the talent for everyone at the celebrations.

If you enjoy musical chairs, you can play a game of musical dollar bills in order to award the centrepiece. Someone takes out a one-dollar note and music starts playing. Everyone at the table passes the dollar note around the table and when the music stops, the guest still holding the note wins the centerpiece. Or this activitu can be played more traditionally with the guest holding the note dropping out, and the activity continuing until only one guest is holding the note. That one guest receives the centerpiece

Some fun, and fairly traditional ideas include the birthday guests receiving the centerpiece. At every table, the guest whose birthday closest to the wedding date wins the centerpiece. Or if there are married couples at the table, the couple who have been together the longest win the centerpiece, or the couple who were married most recently. Or the centerpiece could be awarded to the guest with the longest hair, or the strangest shoes (again, this would be voted on by fellow table guests).

Party games are a excellent way for the wedding MC to help wedding reception guests mix with each other.

Right now this is the only thing i can find because i've been looking for some good ones the past couple days. There are some differences between the real mafia and epicmafia game. In epicmafia there are a ton of different roles but still pretty much only two sides, village and mafia. To play it you have to sign up with a username, password, and use your email.

I found this to be an interesting discussion point. I think that I am willing to stick my neck out and ask “who are the test really high stakes for?” If it is the student who is being tested, why are schools threatened with the loss of funding if the students cannot pass the test? Why is it not high stake for the parents? Sorrty, you got me started. ;-)

The coolest thing I did this summer is not playing FF which in turn led me to do a bunch of stuffs – stuffs I've been meaning to try and do for the longest time. But since everyday of the year is summer here, I guess my list of cool things to do continues!

Still planning to do many things, one of which is making a BBQ party sometime. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated, as it'll be my first attempt on the event. Here's to hoping that it'll be a success! x(^.^)x

Lonna I am noticing that though you captured how darling Gwen is in that picture in her flower girl dress, you also managed to showcase our excellent little table centerpiece we stayed up late exercising our creativity and sheer brilliance to develop. I thought it needed to be paid tribute to. We should do something on the side. Film production/wedding decor, I can see it now. :) I'm glad you got some shots of the reception. I seemed to have missed most of it chasing kids!

For a bunch of 4 year olds, you WANT their parents at the party. Reasons include keeping them controlled, and perhaps even so legal liability reasons.

You can have party games if you want, but you would have to make sure they are age appropriate. Otherwise, it would be easier to just have play time.

Goody bags for child guests, regardless of age, seems universal. But there is no reason why they have to be expensive. You should be able to find some toys from the dollar store , and Wal-Mart has a whole section of 88 cent toys. Toss [...]

You should send him to Japan where he can be the oldest person alive before he too disappears.

This is a beautiful video. It gave me a great idea for my wedding. I always wanted to create my wedding reception table “Special” like this. Thanks for posting this video.

In Australia, the amount is called either "ten dollars" or "ten bucks," but the physical piece of currency is called a "note" – eg, "This machine accepts $5 and $10 notes."

A "bill" is either the beak of a duck, goose, swan, or platypus, or an invoice for goods or services rendered. You would probably pay a ten dollar bill with a ten dollar note, or two five dollar notes.

Boy, this sounds like a trick question. I think it's 26, but I'll keep looking around.

    Edit: Maybe 28.

Edit 2: Bump that up to 32. Really, I should start looking at this analytically sometime.

Edit 3: Oh, it is 38? All right, let's see where is that sequence found, hmm.

Edit 4: Oh, right, ruin the puzzle for ALL the other people trying to work this one out. So, it's 39? The new question now becomes, "offer 39 consecutive numbers with only 1 lucky number". But first, I'm going to finish work on another puzzler.

    Edit 5: Your example [...]

    Love this story!

For those who complain that the news is always bad and that they want a “feel good” news show, check out Sunday Morning on CBS – they do a quick recap of headlines in the beginning (60 seconds or so) but the rest of the hour and a half is human interest stories and fun/interesting/sweet things about this country and the people in it!
