There Is Something For Everybody To Enjoy In London, England

When I was 16, I got to take a trip to United Kingdom. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it was. Luckily, I was armed with a camera and a little bit of money, so I was able to walk away not only with some of the greatest memories I have, but also some souvenirs and lots of pictures. I’ve spent years figuring out how I can make my way back there. Even though I had to deal with a missing passport and finding the right kind of electrical adapters, getting to go to London proved to be one of the most inspiring and unforgettable moments of my life.

The Tower of London is a popular British Landmark located in London. Probably most well-known as a place or torture and a royal prison, the Tower of London holds centuries of history that are made available to you and your family when you visit. I spent an entire day walking around learning all the stories and seeing for myself just how the Tower worked. Probably my favorite part was seeing the ravens. These huge black birds strut around the lawn, eyeing visitors with their black eyes. The ravens have been residents of the Tower for generations, as a superstition states that if they ever left, the kingdom would fall. In respect of this superstition, the ravens have their very own living quarters and their own personal handler.

Everyone knows Big Ben as one of the most iconic monuments for London. Movies, stories, and art have been representing Big Ben for many, many years, and seeing it for yourself will show you why. I also recommend that you visit Parliament. This is where laws, bills, and other legislation takes place for the government of London, England. I’ve really never been interested in the workings of government, but seeing it in action is pretty inspiring. Getting to see the “behind the scenes” government action was really special, and it amazed me how accessible it was.

Although it’s a little cliche, seeing the Changing of the Guard was a really cool experience as well. I didn’t pick a guard’s nose or try to make him laugh anything, they are armed after all, but I did get pretty close to have my picture taken. There are numerous locations where you can see the guards, including the Tower of London. The various parks and gardens in London make walking anywhere as adventure in itself. Huge ponds full of all kinds of birds, from swans to some funny looking ducks, walk around parks full of beautiful sculptures and breathtaking gardens. Seriously, the gardens are beautiful.

London shopping is unlike any other. All you need is a purse with plenty of money, and don’t forget your passport, and you are set. Camden market is any teenager’s shopping heaven, and some of my favorite souvenirs were purchased there. From classy boutiques to a punk rocker’s paradise, there is something for absolutely everyone, and it is almost impossible not to be walking away with armloads of stuff.

Everyone in your family can walk away with some unforgettable experiences after a London visit. I definitely did. If you’ve never been able to see London for yourself, I recommend you take a trip there sometime. I promise, it’s even worth the hassle of having to find that missing passport.

I will be in Western Europe for the month of May (Dublin, Berlin, Florence, Rome, Athens, Greek Islands, and London). Does anyone know if you need to use a different kind of condom in Europe? I know the electrical adapters are totally different and I would like to be fully prepared.

It's simply because he stands 6'5", 241 pounds, and is a play on the Big Ben clock tower in London. There's not much of an association there; Roethlisberger isn't British. It's simply catchy.

The NFL has a policy on disciplining players that pretty much says, straight out, that the league can suspend players for anything the Commissioner thinks is embarrassing or potentially embarrassing to the league. So what they're punishing Big Ben for is 'being an asshole in public.' Whether he committed the rape or not, from the league's POV having a star quarterback credibly accused, twice, of rape is bad for business. That's what he's getting suspended for, not the rape he probably committed.

There are more parallels between Beowulf and the stories or Mabinogion as they should be called, Bran the Blessed severed head kept on talking and was eventually also buried in a sacred place. In Brans case, as he was a British king he was buried under what is now the Tower of London. Bran means crow or raven.
