Spain – Great For A Sailing Charter

The main sailing areas in Spain are the Balearics in the east, Costa del Sol in the south and La Coruna in the northwest. The Canaries Islands is also a renowned sailing destination.
The islands of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza are called the Balearics. During the last couple of years Spain’s Mediterranean coast and islands have seen a big development in yachting facilities.

During the winter months, you can move some winter skiing among the slopes of Spanish mountains. The months of September to October are loaded with different kinds of activities you can participate in. Yachting in Spain, however, can be enjoyed anytime you want.

In the centre of the colorful scenery of Costa del Sol, with all its sky-rise hotels and whitewashed villas, is Sotogrande. It is a very peaceful Spanish area surrounded by one of the world’s best marina. You can without any problems find chartered boats and yachts that can offer different packages for sailing across Spanish waters. This place attracts many individuals who love to participate in any sailing event. If you’re not sailing in Spain’s seas, then you can have fun playing with golf or polo. There are different kinds of golf and polo courses that you can choose from. Yachting in Spain shouldn’t just be spent in the sea. You can delight your gastronomic juices with many kinds of seafood meals that you can devour, which include grilled squids and prawns. Ibiza isn’t just about night clubs. There are almost 60 beaches with fine white sand and pristine blue waters. Activities that you can do include kayaking, snorkeling, skiing, swimming, diving, and sailing. You can also participate in daily sailing tours at a very reasonable price.

The sea, meanwhile, invites everyone for a good day of sailing in Spain.

    Yes, I totally agree with you – synchronised swimming is a joke.

    I think a lot of the team sports (eg. soccer, hockey, etc) are pointless – the original Olympics were about the individual athlete – I mean, we get team stuff all the time – I think they should focus only on the original Olympic sports (eg. athletics, swimming, gymnastics)

    La Digue once in 16 years ! You must get there and write a blog on how it's changed – I was first there in 1996. Just done it twice in 2 weeks in April – on a sailing charter – you ARE missing out! This was our sixth visit in 12 years and was as enjoyable as ever.
