HP Compaq Presario – Review

Among the HP Compaq Presario trio, the HP Compaq Presario CQ5500f holds the distinction of being the top gun of the series. The HP Compaq Presario CQ5500f is the only unit in the series that is loaded with a dedicated graphics processor in 256 MB Nvidia GeForce 9200M GS. With this graphics support, the CQ60 could render better graphics than its siblings.

It also sports the largest screen in the series, having a 16-inch LCD. Its smaller brothers, the CQ20 and the CQ40, have 12.1 and 14 inches displays, respectively. Because the HP Compaq Presario CQ60 is part of a series, its specs are quite similar to its little siblings. All Presarios are powered by the Intel Centrino P7350 Core 2 Duo at 2 GHz and backed by 2 GB of random access memory. With these specs, multi-tasking could be a cinch, especially with the CQ60 loaded with an integrated graphics. This laptop could hold up to 250 GB of digital files, giving its user ample space to store those HD movies, games and even music.

With this large space, one may not have to worry about burning files on a CD. The HP CQ60 is also coupled with an optical drive, so one may watch his favorite DVD on this unit. And if one gets bored watching on the CQ60′s 16-inch screen, he may connect the unit to an external HD monitor via its HDMI port. In terms of connectivity, the laptop does not lose out. It is stacked with three USB ports as well as Bluetooth, Infrared and a 56 kbps modem. The laptop could also operate Wireless local area networks under the 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n standards. The laptop is also loaded with a Web cam, and an ExpressCard slot, in case one needs more disk space for storage. Since the HP Compaq Presario CQ5500f is largest in the series, it is also the heaviest at 2.75 kilograms – which is, however, still light enough to carry around.

SPECS Processor: 2 GHz Intel Centrino P7350 Core 2 Duo Memory: 2 gigabytes Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 9200 GS Hard disk space: 250 gigabytes Screen: 16 inches Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium edition

PROS Since the laptop is loaded with a dedicated video processor, it renders graphics better than its brothers. Since graphics processing does not anymore eats up memory from the processor, rendering videos becomes better. Playing some light games is allowable in the HP Compaq Presario CQ5500f, but not heavy ones. The laptop also offers a good processing combo with the its 2 GHz Core 2 Duo and 2 GB of RAM support.

CONS The HP Compaq Presario CQ5500f does not have enough graphics memory to support hardcore games. This laptop, however, is not made for playing games.

Dual core CPU: A single chip that contains two distinct processors that work simultaneously.

32 bit operating system:Refers to the number of bits that can be processed or transmitted in parallel, or the number of bits used for single element in a data format. The term is often applied to the following:

microprocessor: indicates the width of the registers. A 32-bit microprocessor can process data and memory addresses that are represented by 32 bits.

operating system: refers primarily to the number of bits used to represent memory addresses.

Indeed Antix M8 is the perfect OS (fast and small) for the perfect netbook (beyond the Atom N270 + GMA950 default it has has an ExpressCard Slot, a 2nd free RAM slot, and best of all the Linux version [with the 4GB SSD] has a free SATA slot for an additional HDD/SSD).
For Tuning and Tweaking Antix (or Linux in general) visit my website: linux.atcrosslevel.de (in example how to use the novo-key in antix/linux)

I have a PS3 and of course XBOX 360 have better graphics. But, graphics aren´t everything on a game. In my opinion, PS3 joystick is better tha xbox 360 joystick.

    PS3 FTW

Better Graphics and Better games. Nothing beats
been through 4 xbox consoles because I always have a problem with each of them. My first one got the red ring of death, my 2nd one just stopped reading my disks, my 3rd one had something wrong with the fan and then just stopped working all together, my one is doing fine, but I have to put up with that. Gold Live is way to expensive while psn is free. and yes I sent my consoles in to microsoft but they all eventually stopped working. Anyone who says that the [...]
