How The New Liquid Ban Works in Practise and Why You Should Care

Are you looking forward to a a family vacation or perhaps a business trip? If that is the case, there is a good chance that you have your hands full with the planning process, such as taking care of the proper identification that is needed to board an airplane, as well as many other important details. Proper identification is definitely required to get you on the airplane in the first place, but that is used a small portion of the process of traveling by plane these days. To that end, here’s some information on the air travel rules you need to know and abide by.

One of the most important air travel rules that you as a passenger must follow, has to do with the various items that are actually prohibited on airplanes. To be more exact, you will also need to learn which items are only prohibited from being in your carryon luggage and what is allowed to include in your checked luggage.

It is when you arrive at the airport that the practicalness of air travel rules begin. For one thing, you will have to pass through several airport security checkpoints, as all passengers are required to pass through these.

This is where you will need to go through a metal detector and have your baggage sent through and x-ray machine. That may not be news to you, but did you know that this procedure has recently changed? Unless you are disabled or suffer from a serious medical condition, you are now required to remove your shoes. After baring your feet, your shoes will be scanned just like rest of your carryon luggage – and it is probably not to check wether you have sweaty feet (small joke there).

The air travel liquid ban

Since it is certainly not uncommon to have some sort of liquid with you – a bottle of water for example – there is a good chance that you will need to alter your packing habits. When it comes to the new liquid ban you should keep in mind that: liquids are primarily banned from being brought with you into the passenger area of the airplane, in your carry on luggage. This ban does not prohibit you from brining these items with you altogether, but the checked baggage is the place it must go.

Some of the items that are now included in the liquid air travel ban, that many people would like to object to as being dangerous, include health and beauty products, especially those that are liquid or gel based. Skincare products such as hand lotions, hand sanitizers, and moisturizing creams also fall in this category.

The importance of following air travel rules

In order to fully appreciate the importance of following air travel rules, you need to familiarize yourself with them thoroughly. Checking with airlines and airports is always a good point of reference. In addition to contacting them directly, you can usually also find good overviews on their websites.

Should you decide (or simply by mistake) defy air travel rules or fail to cooperate with airport security, you will find yourself facing a number of different consequences. Assuming you are not a terrorist about the vorst common consequence is that you’ll be grounded from catching the right plane.

While it is being detained by airport security or by local authorities is a definite possibility, you’ll be happy to hear that it is rather rare.

Taking the time to educate yourself about contemporary air travel rules, new additions in particular, will make your airline traveling experience much more enjoyable.

The time travel rules indicate that a copy of yourself significantly different in age is not really your ‘self’ but a different person who used to be or will eventually be you.

Actually its just another example of how the government botches things up. I believe the catch phrase was to "professionalize we must federalize" airport security. What happened was we took the same people gave them more stupid rules to enforce, put them in a federal employee union and paid them a lot more to slow down boarding aircraft.

my child have necrosis of the humerus. I was told she should go back for x rays every 3 months cause they dont want her exposed to so much radiation. I opted for them every 6 weeks but they perfer she doesnt get the radiation. I was also told your bones are slow to show on x rays such at 6 weeks behind.

So tell your doctors how you feel and see what they say maybe they will have a better explaination on why they are doing so many x rays….maybe they think you need to be watched closer due [...]

I neither wish to be irradiated or have people inspect my todger on a monitor. Usually when you go through an airport you can see peoples belonging appear on the screen as they go through the baggage X-ray machine. Imagine hanging around waiting for your luggage to go through as the machine shows all walking through naked – eek.

Checked baggage is the baggage you hand over prior to embarking, as opposed to "carry-on" baggage.

There is usually a size limitation for carry-on baggage so you should look into that. It is only optional if your carry-on baggage exceed the limit.
