Audio Books – Kids Adore Listening To Great Stories
Kids truly love stories. And kids adore it when somebody takes the time to tell or read them a good story. They usually have a few favourite stories which they like to hear nearly every day. That’s good, because it allows them to continuously develop the images in their head that go with the story and to use their own fantasy.
Many parents do a truly great job helping their kind to develop their creativity and to allow them to have stimulation other than from TV. Others are simply not aware, how important it is to further this ability of imagination, fantasy and mental images. Video games and television may be very parctical to keep kids busy and out of your feet, but they are not really helping the growth of your kids mental abilities.
“I’m lacking time to read stories to my kids” you may say. That’s truly a problem for some parents, more so if you are a working parent and if you have to take care of your household and kids after your normal work hours. That however does not mean that you can not stimulate the intellect of your kids with good stories. Fortunately, there are many very good recordings of childrens books and stories for kids available. These ipod audio books come either on Compact Disc in physical format or even more convenient, free audio books for kids can be downloaded from the internet and you can then either listen to them on your PC, burn them to CD and listen to them on a normal stereo or on your auto audio system, or they can be directly played on an iPod.
The great thing is that many of these kids tales can be found for very little or even no money at all! The choice of audio books with kids adventure stories is very hughe and you are sure to find the audios with stories that your children love best.
Roald Dahl Books – Some of the more well known authors and stories are i.e. Roald Dahl and his series of well known and popular stories like i.e. “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, “The Witches” or “Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator”. These are the tales kids love. They are taken out of a fantasy world but contain parts that the kids can identify with in their own daily life. The descriptions of the characters and scenes where the action takes place are detailed enough to provide the kids with a good base to start, but then the writer leaves plenty of room for their own fantasy. A good tale well told is really ‘cinema in the head’!
Lean back a few minutes and shut your eyes. Now try to remember one of the novels that you were told when you were young, or if nobody told you a story (how sad…) try to remember a book you read then. Usually you will find that a lot of images and even feelings will crop up in your mind and you are taken back into a long forgotten imaginary world.
Make sure that your kids will be able to do the same when they are grown up, help them develop one of the most important faculties, creativity and fantasy! With a good kids audio book you can wake up intellectual abilites that will be important for your kid the rest fo their life …. and you will have a lot of really happy quiet hours yourself, as the kids will listen to these stories over and over again.

Love the debate–as someone who has taken only the required linguistics classes for an antediluvian English degree I am fascinated by the role of language here. Surely the reason for calling anybody “retard” is to insult them. Is it any surprise that people are offended by the word? It is used as a slur, that's the point of using it at all.
So, is it ever acceptable to comment on anybody's mental abilities? “Stupid” has been used to mean “mentally slow” since 1540 according to Dictionary.com. Is it any better to call someone “mentally slow” than “mentally retarded”? “Dumb” comes [...]
Choosing an online store from a retailer that is in the same country as one’s giftee might work, but there’s no guarantee that there will be a relevant online retailer in zeitgeizt’s giftee’s country, is there? Please correct me if I’m wrong, because I haven’t used Amazon in 10+ years, but I checked Wikipedia, and it says, “Amazon has established separate websites in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, and China. It also provides international shipping to certain countries for some of its products.” To me that means that even a big store like Amazon won’t be able to [...]
If Virgil Fox is such a great organist as some claim, then why didn't he play real organs, ie organs with trackers? In fact, Mr Fox referred to these as “clackers”, presumably because you can sometimes hear the trackers. I refer to pneumatic “pipe organs” as “ding dongs”, because their action, like a door bell, is merely on or off. No other “classical” instrument has such an insensitive playing action. I love the irony that the cover of VF Greatist Hits? has a picture of the Mueller tracker.
Have you read Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator? They go into space in the elevator. From what I recall (erm, from 20 years ago) they meet space monsters and stuff. So…maybe it would be right up Stinky’s alley?
Long live the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland – Down with the separatists!
