Intellectual Property Copyright
What with all the hullabaloo about James Frey and his nonfiction book, A Million Little Pieces—which turns out to be not nonfiction but an amalgam of true and fabricated embellishments, the emphasis on intellectual property copyright is even more important. No, Frey did not copy or infringe in that respect on any intellectual property copyright laws, but he did bring back to the forefront of the publishing world’s conscious the issue of real and fair versus false and unfair. Combined with the ways of the world and those on the worldwide web who are less than scrupulous, the need for intellectual property copyright is imperative. So first, here are a few of the standard terms as they apply to intellectual property copyright procedures, according to the U.S. Copyright office codes and such firms and institutions as The San Diego Business Law Firm:…
DEFINITION of INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Intellectual property is any creation done by the mind (intellect). This includes writing, art, inventions, methods and techniques and practices, and processes.
DEFINITION of COPYRIGHT
Copyright is protective coverage, as instituted by the United States and its laws (title 17, U.S. Code). This coverage is granted to those applying for protection of any original work of authorship—including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works (such as technological and scientific, though not those that are or will be protected by patent or trademark). Copyright protection covers both published and unpublished works, depending upon the author’s application of and for copyright protection.

HAHAHAHA i have only heard of this raqqiming phenomenon that occurs in some places but it sounds totally retarded and a complete waste of time.i find it also kinda amusing… but this is probably only due to the fact that i have never experienced it in person and have only heard crazy storiese.h. little pieces of papers flying on to girls tables with nicknames and phone numbers (after a initally failed bluetooth search for female names lol). i would love to “see what happens” if someone tried to raqqim me

PeterK, I lean the other way, that this might not be a pre-selection. Within the federal world, where I work, pre-selection can cause difficulties for those who casually engage in it, including the triggering of Inspector General investigations. This article presents a pretty sobering view of the consequences of relying on pre-selection for certain from where I sit, an employing organization would need to have pretty compelling reasons to pre-select. I don’t discern these here. For starters, the announcement states that this is a “new position.” Pre-selection requires the employer to have a specific individual in mind. If there [...]
I was heartened to read Bruce Willis’ words in defence of James Frey on the website http://www.contactmusic.com. Not many celebrities are going to risk coming to the defence of Mr. Frey, no matter what their private thoughts on the issue may be. Not a good idea to make Oprah mad at you.
Bruce Willis declared James Frey was unfairly attacked on Oprah’s show last month. “Look at what happened to James Frey, in the last two weeks,” said Willis. “That's (A Million Little Pieces-jhh) a great book and so is the follow-up book. (My Friend, Leonard.jhh)
“And just because his [...]
Ooh, that evil word again.
The American Dream of working hard to get whatever you want was replaced with the American Nightmare of believing you deserve to be given what you want.
I note you pointed out States of because there are several in the world. Well done for that.
