No, not necessarily. It should just be interesting, as in "interest". Generally, a human interest story is something that is unique, unusual or emotionally touching.

Mark, I'm new to the Blogosphere and have begun writing a blog on customer service and how to improve the customer experience. My company BarServ is a mystery shopping firm based here in Dallas-Fort Worth. I'm trying to write about original ideas from my head and not linking out to other blogs. I'm making tons of money doing it, and I just started in August. I love doing it. It's alot of fun and I can do it in my spare time…

Go to and there's a huge list of REAL mystery shopping companies. The rule of thumb I've found is NEVER pay a company to be a mystery shopper. The ones that ask for money are either scams or just aren't worth the money you'd pay them…

below are some of my favorite companies' links. … Good luck

    Bare Associates International (BAI):
    Beyond Hello: http://www.beyondhello.com
    DSG Associates:
    IntelliShop: [...]

Seriously – points 2, 3 and 5 of the PepsiCo quote are very interesting. Other big brands will be thinking along similar lines, sooner or later, so the next decade or two should start to see positive changes as their marketing shifts, or nudges, consumer behaviour.

The shopper himself/herself is not mysterious. Mysterious shopper would be like saying "The shopper is mysterious". a mystery shopper because the shopper is just a normal shopper and who the shopper is, is a mystery.

Example– he is a football player a player of football. she is a mystery shopper a shopper kept a mystery.
