The CDC states 159,217 lung cancer deaths in 2005

According to US census the population in 2006 was 293,655,404

Therefore, approximately 0.06% of the US population dies of lung cancer every year.

There some that smoke a lifetime and die at 100 due to natural causes and some that smoke and die in their 50s and a few that die sooner than that. The longest living person ever recorded died at 122 and had also smoked a few years in her life.

Every individual reacts differently to smoking cigarettes, so there really anyone who can predict how your health is [...]

1. What is asbestos? What are asbestos health effects?
Asbestos is a mineral fiber that was once used for insulation and as a fire retardant in buildings. It can be found in old homes in piping, shingles, textured paints, and floor tiles. Many products such as insulation with asbestos have been banned by the EPA and CPSC because of Asbestos affects on human health. The material does not cause any immediate damage to the human body, but over time people exposed to asbestos can develop forms of chest and abdominal cancer such as mesothelioma. It also causes lung diseases like [...]

My dad had to get surprise quadruple bypass surgery earlier this year (he's 75). He had been having some chest tightness (not even pain) for a few months. His doctor was nonchalant about it (thought it was asthma, maybe panic attacks), but his friend who is chief of emergency at a local hospital insisted that he get an angiogram. So he goes in for the angio on a Friday morning. Now, my dad can be kind of a baby about medical procedures. He was fussing about the 1 in 5000 mortality rate or whatever it is. He was terrified that [...]

My name is ginger; and I have just started a charitable foundation called Larry's steps, in honor of my brave brother who is fighting end stage melanoma. This foundation will assist those who are fighting melanoma cancer, thru financial help with ins. copays, medication bill, and monies to assist them to get back and forth for treatments. To date, there are no specific organizations which do this for melanoma patients. I have realized thru my brothers fight, how expensive all of this is. I will work with area cancer hospitals, and cancer centers to make sure their melanoma patients are assisted. [...]

Incubation period is the time elapsed between exposure to a pathogenic organism, a chemical or radiation, and when symptoms and signs are first apparent. The period may be as short as minutes to as long as thirty years in the case of variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

While Latent or Latency period may be synonymous, a distinction is sometimes made between Incubation period, the period between infection and clinical onset of the disease, and Latent period, the time from infection to infectiousness. Which is shorter depends on the disease.disease, and Latent period, the time from infection to infectiousness. Which is shorter depends [...]

Yes, the insurance could have rejected because the doctors wanted it changed due to the chest pain and the inhaler he was on carried with it the side effect of chest pain and racing heart (however his was happening without those inhaler meds in his symptom). The inhaler they have switched him to does not carry the side effect of chest pain or racing heart but still opens the airways. One was also generic and the other is name brand and more money and from what the doctors were telling me I am very lucky that they switched it for [...]
