The Biggest Action Figures Shop
When I was young I loved to play with Star Wars Toys. My parents bought me all kinds of figures and vehicles and I used to my friends who also had a huge collection so that we could play together. It was a really nice time and I think that’s one of the reasons why I never stopped collecting Star Wars Toys.
I currently have a huge collection of Star Wars Toys and my kids and nephews really like to play with these toys. I’m not one of these hardcore collectors who put their collection originally packaged into cupboards so that everyone can watch but none can touch them.
Pokemon Toys
Todays kids are more into Pokemon Figures and other Anime toys and figures, could have something to do with the fact that anime television series play 24/7 on national television whereas Star Wars or other movies franchises make one, or multiple appearances, and nothing else for a long time. Just consider the gap between the first three Star Wars movies in the Seventies and the new episodes in the last years.
Pokemon Figures are probably the most popular, they definitely lead all sales figures which is understandable if you take a look at all the media that is pushing the action figures. You got Pokemon movies, dozens of Pokemon games for all gaming systems, Pokemon television series, trading card games and other fan merchandise.
Action Figures
action figures are a huge business these days. What has been created to entertain kids has become a billion Dollar industry dominated by adult collectors who have the necessary cash to buy rare and out of production items on marketplaces like eBay or online shops that specialize on these products.
The term “action figure” was first used by Hasbro in 1964, to market their G.I. Joe figure to boys who wouldn’t play with dolls. G.I. Joe was initially a military-themed 11.5-inch action figure proposed by marketing and toy idea-man Stan Weston. The action figure featured changeable clothes with various uniforms to suit different purposes. In a move that would create global popularity for this type of toy, Hasbro also licensed the product to companies in other markets.
These different licensees had a combination of uniforms and accessories that were usually identical to the ones manufactured for the US market by Hasbro, along with some sets that were unique to the local market.
Today, the adult collector market for action figures is expanding with companies like McFarlane Toys, Palisades, and NECA. Said companies have given numerous movie characters, musicians, and athletes their very first highly detailed figures
