Self employment brings you tremendous joy and freedom in your life. Once you have found out a way on how to become self employed and have already tasted a little bit of success, then you will find out what kind of confidence and amazing flexibility and a deep sense of job security it can give to you. And the joy of not having a boss above you and knowing that you are in charge of your life can be the greatest feeling of all. What more can you demand from life?
If you are venturing into self-employment, or if you are already a self employed person and you are in need of some encouragement, here are a few important points that needs to be looked at, which can ease you into this most liberating experience.
First of all you have to calculate about what underlies your sense of security. Can you be secured with the 9-5 job? Definitely yes, after all no one can deny that at the end of the month you get a reliable pay check. So that means there is some reliability and sense of security in doing a job.
Are you strong enough in trusting the course of your life? Can you embrace the challenge, the changes and the growth flow? Those are the things that contribute to your confidence of sense of security. Self employment may help foster those attributes more than a 9-5 job can. The reason? 9-5 jobs as an employee are not can come and go to!
You may be fired, or your spouse may need move, or a life change can abruptly end the job for you.
You will never get your true security for your job. If you look for it there you will find that everything is fine but you know that it may not be the same in the long term. There may be disappointments, or at the best you will have a steady life, with an equal amount of fear that it is going to become unsteady. The most important thing to learn is to have the security from inside in order to transition into self employment.
Once you start to do that, you need to make peace with being under-employed. At some point, you will need to quit your old job, right? Take the leap of faith? Of course, it is scary, but you must find a way to accept it, and if you do not find a way, becoming self-employed could stay forever out of reach.
So, most likely, under employment will be your state of affairs at first. If you are eligible for unemployment benefits, now is the time to cash them in. Many people who are transitioning out of being employed actually find ways to collect unemployment as they are making this life change.
It is not as hard as you may think to become self-employed. You start from the ground up. Learn from people who have done it. Go to libraries and read books on it. Get your true security from the iside, take action and you will find you way. The freedom of self-employment may be just what the doctor ordered.

really we need more, 70-100k jobs.. what we need less of is 100 million$ CEOs that do nothing but sit at a desk and decide occasionally to fire 1000 ppl. pay them 5 million, and take the other 95 million and use it to create jobs, pay for pensions, retirement, social security, medicaid, infrastructure, increased wages for teachers, etc.
