Routers
Nowadays Internet has been the transfiguring concept in the world of technology. Internet is the largest hub connecting people from all walks of life from allover the world. People search for information related to communication, entertainment, and education etc every second all the time. Loads of data is transferred all over between computers that very second. It is an ocean of information; You can search information on almost any topic and instantly access it within few moments. . People sitting at a far distance from each other can communicate with each other in just few flashes of eyes lids…
We send message or an email to our friends, how does the data find its path to the person who is sitting thousand of kilometers away from you? You thought it was magic or a server that does the job for you but without the help of the router this information reaches you almost in no time. Routers are the backbone of the net, which handle the flow of such a huge data. Router is a specialized computer that takes care of data routing on the Internet along thousands of pathways, because of which all your messages and information are sent to those who are intended to receive them.
Consider this simple scenario, suppose you want to send an email to your friend who is hundreds of kilometers away from you, after some time, the message travels through the network and passes through thousands of computers which are connected to Internet and reaches to the computer of your friend. But how does your message reach your friend’s computer? How does it know the exact address of your friend’s machine? How does the message reach your friend even if there is congestion in between the networks? Router is a machine that handles the responsibility of carrying out all the above tasks. Routers help in managing data flow on the Internet between different networks.
Each packet carries the destination machine address with it, when the intended machine checks that the packet contains it’s address, it accepts the data. Similarly, every computer on the pathway checks all the packets to find if the data is intended for that machine. This may cause a performance problem in the form of congestion in the network. This problem is taken care of by routers, routers read all the packets and send them by a pathway through different networks to the machine which is intended to receive the data, this helps in reducing the congestion.
The functionality of the Internet would come to a standstill without a router. In the Internet addicted world that we live in imagining a day without being connected to the world is scary be it for personal or professional uses. Router is the one that prevents your data from being lost in transit. Its your personal mailman that delivers your mail to the person far kilometers away every second.

A router is a device that interconnects two or more computer networks, and selectively interchanges packets of data between them. Each data packet contains address information that a router can use to determine if the source and destination are on the same network, or if the data packet must be transferred from one network to another. Where multiple routers are used in a large collection of interconnected networks, the routers exchange information about target system addresses, so that each router can build up a table showing the preferred paths between any two systems on the interconnected networks.A router is a [...]
“Eeeew!” Cinny explains while hitting Crispy's shoulder.
“No offense but he's sort of ugly!” She turns back to the movie rolling her eyes. After a few moments Cinny mumbles:
“We should watch Edward Scissorhands instead. Tim Burton is better than Phyllida Lloyd. Hmpf. I want to see Johnny Depp. Even Pierce Brosnan isn't as amazing as him.”

Dear Google Video User,Later this month, hosted video content on Google Video will no longer be available for playback. Google Video stopped taking uploads in May 2009 and now we’re removing the remaining hosted content. We’ve always maintained that the strength of Google Video is its ability to let people search videos from across the web, regardless of where those videos are hosted. And this move will enable us to focus on developing these technologies further to the benefit of searchers worldwide. On April 29, 2011, videos that have been uploaded to Google Video will no longer be available for playback.
