Laser Eye Surgery
Like many of us, when I was young I never used to take care of my eyes and took my eyesight for granted. I did not bothered to visit an optometrist for regular checkups. I never used to wear any sunglasses to protect my eyes from the ultra violet rays. I used to sit infront of my computer and work for hours or used to watch television at a stretch and putting lot of pressure on my eyes. Slowly and steadily my eyes sight started to become weak and it use to take long time before I could see a far off object and that is when I realized that I needed glasses or contacts. Then I decided to go for a check up and visited a doctor and then after trying lots of glasses, I decided to check for one more alternative Laser eye surgery and boy, am I glad that I took a wise decision…
When I checked with the doctor he confirmed that the laser eye surgery was possible in my case. I was happy and finally decided that I will go for it. There are different types of laser eye surgery available, but the two most common outpatient procedures for minor problems like mine are PRK and LASIK. Being a common man, it is always recommended that you ask your doctor and try to take full information about the surgery. After going through some brochures that my doctor gave to me about the LASIK laser eye surgery, I weighed the potential benefits against the possible risks and decided to go for it.
I also decided to check for some more information on the internet and wanted to know the kind of experiences other people have had. Although their experiences wouldn’t have any bearing on my own, but I wanted some reassurances which would help me mentally. While reading to some of the experiences, I learned that many athletes who depend on good eyesight for them to give the best performance, opted to get laser eye surgery. Of those athletes who made public comments, most admitted of having good experience of the laser eye surgery.
I’m happy to say that my laser eye surgery went very well. I was nervous before the surgery, but my doctor and the technician really made me feel better. The laser eye surgery was really good thing to happen and it was quick and without any pain. If you are planning of getting a laser eye surgery then I would like to suggest to check out about it on the internet. Infact there are many websites where you can get lots of information. However medical procedures require the input of an actual doctor.
