The Army weight standards are pretty rough, but they are more concerned about fitness. They will give you a tape test, which you will probably pass. If you do fail, they will give you a specific stress test to test your physical fitness that isn't exactly difficult to pass.

I wouldn't worry about it.

These ideas are great and so creative. I may have to build the dipping station out of PVC pipe. The furniture sliders prove that working out does not have to mean going to a fancy gym and using all the cool machines. A demanding workout can be done with a bit of imagination. Thanks for putting together such a cool list of exercise videos.

Well I workout pretty hard, play first team sports and have done weights/running/swimming for years... dipping in the last year admittedly (college lifestyle!) ...and I reckon the 8 minute workouts are pretty good!

I reckon if you do abs, buns, legs, arms and the stretch one as well BACK TO BACK (if you are able to of course!) you are essentially doing loads of circuit training

Circuit training's a really good way of burning fat, improving cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength and coordination.

My whole body ached the first few days I tried the 8 minute workouts.

Chris - I'm probably not much more successful than you are at calming the Crossfit jitters. I used to try to explain things to people, and I still do if they're genuinely interested/ask me. Basically, I'll tell them that Crossfit is for everybody regardless of age/weight/athletic experience, totally scaleable, they can execute each workout based on their skill/athletic level, and they should just jump into it and complete the workouts (scaled down if needed) the best they can. I also explain that the human body is very adaptable so their bodies will respond and adapt to it quickly - and [...]

FYI, the Canaanites of the Bible were a society that engaged in the quintessence act of evil - child sacrifice. It was? not race that determined their destruction but the lowest of human behavior. Also, slavery was universal than and only until recently abolished. The message misterdeity understood was not only not the message the people for who the message was intended understood, but was never promoted or operable in history. Never.

I put this
"Language in relation to a unified theory of the structure of human behavior"
into a well-known search engine
and found this

as the first answer out of about 295,000
so, the answer is yes.
By the way, thank you for asking this question. I actually really like reading this for my own education.

I say go for the movies and the chocolate!

I watched that infomerical as well. I like the idea! My digital cable came with an Exercise on Demand Channel. I can choose between yago & pilates, walking, abs, tae bo, and a couple of others. I had been working out to the 2 mile walk program and the kids tae bo. I am taking just a couple of days off. I am hoping to start back up tomorrow.

My new goal has been to get up at 5:30 every morning and do Billy Blanks! So that pretty much forces me to go to bed at a decent time. And since John runs in the mornings...it's perfect. We get up at the same time and he leaves to run and I exercise. Although sometimes Chloe wakes up and wants a bottle during my exercise routine, that puts me in a foul mood!!! haha...good job on those baby steps!
