Air Conditioner Freon Leak Repairs

During the summer months one of the most common problems with air conditioning systems is getting low on freon. This is a problem that normally ends with the air conditioning contractor putting a few pounds of freon in and calling it quits. This is not the correct way to solve the solution, and never a repair that will last forever. By going through the next steps I have provided in this article you can guarantee your air conditioner will work next year.

The way an air conditioning system works is by using a refrigerant (freon) and letting it change its state to take the heat out of the air. This refrigerant is in a sealed system which should never have to be replaced or recharged. When a proper installation of an air conditioner is performed the contractor should put a vacuum on the system to check for any leaks. If there is a leak in the system it needs to be found and repaired. This is where the problem normally comes into effect. during the installation process either someone had a bad braze weld or didn’t put a vacuum pump on and there is a leak.

This leak could go undetected for a few years and by the time the customer notices it there is no more warranty on the product or installation. When another contractor comes in to look for the problem they just fill it up and take the easy money. This charge to fill with freon can range from $350-$675 and after doing that a few times the customer can spend more than the system is worth. Not to mention the damage the low freon will do to your compressor and cause future problems.

The proper thing to do in the case of a loss of freon is very easy, and after the fix you can be sure that you will never lose freon again.

What you need to see the contract rod is put the system into a positive pressure using nitrogen. By putting that much pressure in the system you will be able to hear the nitrogen leak and repair the problem. If the problem is in the outside or inside coils you need to have them replaced. Hopefully the leak was in one of the original welds and can just be touched up. After the repair there needs to be a vacuum put on the system. By bringing the system to a negative pressure you remove all of the noncondensables and any moisture in the system. Let this vacuum sit for an hour and see if there is any loss. If not recharge to factory standards and you air conditioning system will work well for a long time.

It is great that you shared information about your Nissan 300ZX or Nissan Fairlady Z. Keep it up and give more information for the people, I think it could be better if you use Nissan AC Condenser for your Nissan car air conditioning system. The AC condenser uses air fins and the passing air to take away the heat from the refrigerant thereby making it absorb more heat from the interior of the vehicle.

Central heat and air means you have both heat and a/c pumped through the same system. There is a furnace for heat and a compressor for air conditioning. So you get hot and cold air.

    Hi Friends,
I Rohan Belhe is SY MECH student of CITC. When we people were in First Year we had prepared a blog for Mechanical engineers. It was named as “”MECHNOKRATES”" which mean Mechanical Engineering technocrats. The aim of this blog was to develop all round technical as well as technological aspects of Mechanical Engineering. We had introduced the blog so that the budding engineers are exposed to current & future technology on Global basis. Due to some reasons we were unable to give time to it. But now we are again coming back big time with a bang. We [...]

Tokyo is over 200 miles away from the epicenter of the quake… While their building engineering is fantastic, that’s not why Tokyo didn’t collapse.

I'm attending VT for mechanical engineering and some of the best engineers I know are girls. True, there are far fewer women than men in the field. But the quality of an engineer is completely independent of their sex. As far as placement goes, I see most companies reaching out to woman engineers at least as much if not more than their male counterparts at career fairs and the like.
